Shri Ramcharitmanas is one of the most revered scriptures in Hinduism, composed by the great poet-saint Tulsidas in the 16th century. It is a retelling of the Ramayana, the ancient epic that narrates the life and deeds of Lord Rama, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Shri Ramcharitmanas all Kands List

Shri Ramcharitmanas is written in Awadhi, a dialect of Hindi, making it accessible to the common people of northern India. The text is divided into seven “Kands” or books, each detailing different phases of Lord Rama’s life:

  • Bal Kand: The childhood and early life of Lord Rama, including his education and marriage to Sita.
  • Ayodhya Kand: The events leading up to Rama’s exile from Ayodhya.
  • Aranya Kand: Rama’s life in the forest during his exile, including the abduction of Sita by Ravana.
  • Kiskindha Kand: Rama’s alliance with Hanuman and Sugriva to rescue Sita.
  • Sundar Kand: Hanuman’s journey to Lanka and his meeting with Sita.
  • Lanka Kand: The battle between Rama and Ravana, leading to Ravana’s defeat.
  • Uttar Kand: Rama’s return to Ayodhya and his reign as king.
