Shri Skandamata Aarti English Lyrics
Shri Skandamata is the fifth form of Goddess Durga, worshipped on the fifth day of Navaratri. Her name signifies “Mother of Skanda” (Lord Kartikeya, the god of war).
She is depicted riding a lion, possessing four arms, and carrying the infant Skanda on her lap. Her other hands typically hold lotus flowers, and one is in the boon-giving gesture. Often seated on a lotus, she is also known as Padmasana.
Skandamata embodies maternal affection, wisdom, and the power to destroy evil. Devotees believe her worship grants them salvation, prosperity, power, and the double blessings of the Goddess and her son, Skanda. She is considered a benevolent deity, offering immense love and protection to her sincere followers.

Jai teri ho Skandamata,
Paanchva naam tumhara aata.
Sabke man ki jaanan haari,
Jag janni sab ki mahataari.
Teri jyot jalaata rahu main,
Hardam tujhe dhyaata rahu main.
Kai naamon se tujhe pukaara,
Mujhe ek hai tera sahara.
Kahi pahaadon par hain dera,
Kai shehron mein tera basera.
Har mandir mein tere najare,
Gun gaaye tere bhakt pyare.
Bhakti apni mujhe dila do,
Shakti meri bigdi bana do.
Indra aadi devataa mil saare,
Kare pukaar tumhare dvaare.
Dusht datya jab chadh kar aaye,
Tum hi khanda haath uthaaye.
Daaso ko sada bachaane aayi,
‘Chaman’ ki aas pujane aayi.
